History of First Lutheran School

                             First Lutheran School was the first school in the Fort Smith Area.  Founded over 150 years ago in 1853, First Lutheran School’s continued educational emphasis has been to provide a Christ Centered and Bible based education to its students.  The original school was built adjacent to the present First Lutheran Church building at 419 North 12^th Street.  Outgrowing the original building, the present school was built and dedicated at 2407 Massard Road in May of 1975.  In 1993, the school expanded its operations to include the Preschool/Daycare Learning Center.
